Meet the Guys
Here's the info you need about the band you love
Steve MortonWhat do world-class front men/vocalists/bassists Sting, Geddy Lee and that guy from Nightranger have in common with Steve?
Nothing. No seriously – we tried to think of something but couldn’t agree upon anything believable. That being said, he’s not too bad of a singer. Covering the lead vocal lines for the band, Steve is a decent mimic. As a bass player, he’s considered an above average dancer. Ask the other guys in the band why he’s the frontman and, just like Steve, they’ll remind you who owns the PA, lights, trailer and home in which they practice. As a child of the 80’s, Steve honed his musicianship and stage presence on the Colorado club circuit. Although his use of hair spray has been significantly reduced over the years, he still considers himself the, “eye-candy” of the group. |
Tom RhotonNo one knows how many guitars Tom owns. He keeps it quiet. We know it’s at least three. Could be as many as 300.
An accomplished guitarist originally from Phoenix, he sharpened his classical chops before realizing it’s a lot easier to just play four chords coupled with The Truth. He regularly takes on vocal duties and has a fine baritone voice. You can hear him on all the low notes Morton can’t hit. From hard driving rock to slow acoustic songs, Tom’s guitar playing has been heard by thousands of people through hundreds of live performances. (That includes a memorable gig at a Cub Scout fireside where a 10 year old shouted, “Freebird!”) Conclusively proving the link with maternal genetics, each of his kids have been competitive dancers. In his off time he collects and refurbishes fountain pens and rides a Harley. Ask him nicely and he’ll show you his Les Paul autograph. Don’t worry, it’s not a tattoo. |
Brad WilsonIf thine enemy wrong thee, buy each of his children a drum. - Ancient Proverb
Considered one of Salt Lake County’s loudest drummers, Brad is the only native Californian in our band. Solid meter, dynamics, musicality, tuning, above average intelligence - those aren’t words normally used to describe a drummer. But he’s so good, we actually turn him up in our monitors. Voted, “Most likely to actually know the songs when he comes to rehearsal,” he’s been a breath of fresh air. This guy can stay in the pocket. A competitive cyclist whose time in the Lotoja race is better than Steve’s driving time, Brad brings a stage presence best described as a cross between Mr Bean and GWAR. Brad has drumming heroes. Get him in a conversation and he’ll share his respect for the top players out there today: Steve Smith from Journey, Neil Peart, Buddy Rich, Carter Beauford from the Dave Matthews Band and Sir Paul McCartney. |
